Thien Thanh Thi Nguyen or better known as Tila Tequila was born on October 24, 1981 and gained popularity as an Internet celebrity. The Singaporean born celebrity was raised in Houston, Texas and has gained popularity being an Internet celebrity as well as in then numerous appearances from both magazine and television shows. She also models and hosts for different shows and gained stardom when she starred on the hit reality TV show A Love Shot with Tila Tequila which aired on October 9, 2007 until July 8, 2008 under 495 Productions and MTV.

Tila Tequila was raised in Houston Texan after her family emigrated from Vietnam after the Vietnam War. Her career flourished at the tender age of 18 after she was discovered by a playboy scout and featured by the magazine as their Cyber Girl of the month making her the first Asian to have been featured in the men’s magazine to pose for the Cyber girl category. This led for her to gain other modeling jobs and was later featured on the cover of Import Turner Magazine. Slowly Tila Tequila’s life unfolded on the public where she also admitted that during her teen years she has been involved in using recreational drugs and also joined a gang which influenced her a lot. She then left Texas and fled to New York to start a life anew.

At the age of 20 Tila Tequila formed a band and called it Beyond Betty Jean which she writes and composes their own songs. The band eventually separated but Tila Tequila joined another band named Jealousy where she became the lead singer. It wasn’t long enough though that it got disbanded but they managed to release some songs online before breaking up. Tila Tequila was singed up in A&M records soon but she has chosen to release her songs in iTunes in her desire to become famous by herself.

Soon MTV spearheaded a reality TV show for Tila Tequila called A Shot of Love with Tila Tequila featuring 16 contestants with men and lesbians to compete in order to get the affection of Tila Tequila. The show was an instant hit and even les some protests to the conservative Christians who expressed their dislike on the show’s theme. The show was aired for two seasons since its start on October 9, 2007 until its finale in July 2008. The finale came as a shocked for everyone whom everyone thought that after choosing the winner Tila Tequila would be able to find her partner but it came out that Kristi had doubts at all if she really wants to become a lesbian at all. Rumors of a season three came as news but it is still not sure whether Tila Tequila would still be a part of the reality show.

Aside from her modeling and acting career, Tila Tequila had also some business ventures through her online website Tila’s Hot Spot which was soon partnered in 2008 by Buzznet to make it as a social networking site. She also currently has a fashion line launched in 2005 named Tilafashion.com which features customized clothing for men and women and also launched Tila Zone which has widgets and clip arts for different social networking sites.
